Jayatu Sanskritam movement : ウィキペディア英語版 | Jayatu Sanskritam movement
The Jayatu Sanskritam movement was begun in July 1947 by students of the Tindhara School in Nepal. They demanded democracy and the inclusion of modern subjects in their curriculum. It was the first student uprising in Nepal's history. The main proponents of the Jayatu Sanskritam movement were Purna Prasad Brahman, Sribhadra Sharma, Kamal Raj Regmi, Rajeshwor Devkota, and Gokarna Shastri. They were sent into exile by the Rana rulers of Nepal. Exiles in India later joined the agitation launched for the establishment of democracy led by B.P. Koirala and other leaders.
